Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous agency in India, which started its operation in 1975 as Personnel Selection Services (PSS). In 1984, IBPS became an independent entity at the behest of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Public Sector Banks. IBPS CWE is now mandatory for anyone who seeks an employment in 20 public sectors and Regional Rural banks. IBPS periodically accepts the exam applications from the candidates at their website, and the exams are organized at various locations in the country in online mode. This year it has released notification for the Clerk posts.

Candidates who are applying must have a minimum qualification of graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute from State or Central Government.
The candidates must have a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 28 years. Other age relaxation details can be seen in the official notification.
If candidates belonging to the general category they should have to pay Rs. 600/- and if candidates belong to SC/ST/PWD/ EXSM they should have to pay Rs. 100/- towards the application fee.
Candidates should first attend the preliminary exam and then qualified candidates will attend the Mains exam. After mains, the candidates should have to write language proficiency test.
IBPS clerk prelims exam will have three papers in which the English language is the 1st paper, Quantitative aptitude as 2nd paper and Reasoning ability as 3rd papers. All together the 3 papers carry 100 marks for which the time duration is 1 hour.
