‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ First Offered To Aamir Khan and Aamir suggested the same to Salman Khan

Bahubali director SS Rajamouli’s father KV Vijayendra Prasad wrote the initial script of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Salman wasn’t the first one to listen to the script, rather it was Aamir. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was first offered to his close friend Aamir Khan who suggested Salman Khan name. Aamir Khan is all praise for friend Salman Khan’s.

At a special press conference on the success of “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, Salman Khan was asked if Aamir was offered the film first, “Yes, Aamir told me that Prasad had come to him and he sent him to me. So this is just Aamir sahab’s generosity,” Salman said.

Prasad’s contribution to the film, Salman said: “The father of ‘Bahubali’ director Rajamouli wrote the subject of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’.Despite being from the southern film industry, Prasad is no stranger to Bollywood. He said that was because there was a difference in language. He said if this film has to be made, it has to be made very authentically.

His co-star Kareena Kapoor recently said in an interview that she felt Salman might be bestowed with the coveted recognition for his work in the superhit film.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan had quite a debut weekend, logging the best opening frame ever for superstar Salman Khan with 102.6 crore ($16.7M) over the three-day in India; and the 3rd biggest weekend ever for Bollywood. It also put Khan in a class by himself. Scoring an 8th film with over 100 crore ($15.7M) at the box office gives him the most Hindi-language movies over that level of any actor in history, according to box office analyst Taran Adarsh. What’s more, Bajrangi set Khan a new overseas benchmark with $8M more in grosses.
