Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her performance in the comedy-drama Queen (2014) and in Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015), a major commercial success, Says that she has been offered to play an 85-year-old woman in Shekhar Kapur’s film.  Shekhar Kapur is an Indian film director, actor and producer known in Bollywood.

 

Kangana Ranaut said. “I have been offered (to play) an 85-year-old woman in Shekhar Kapur’s next film. She is a mother. We are still in talks… The role is very challenging for me”.

She was spoken at the 17th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in Mumbai during a discussion.

But, Kangana did not confirm anything on the role that she has been approached to play the lead role for Kapur’s most ambitious project Paani. Kangana was present at the “Woman in Films” session at the ongoing film gala with Shabana Azmi, Vidya Balan, Kiran Rao and “Selma” director Ava Devunary.

On speaking about the subject, Kangana said: “There is a pressure from the film industry and the society that an actor should look of certain age all the time. We as women should accept ourselves the way we are. We actors should stand for ourselves.”

Kangana Ranaut will next be seen in Rangoon alongside Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
