Kerala State Awards 2014 Final winners List Announced- Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim

According to sources, Kerala Chalachitra Academy has informed the Kerala state government that it will announce
the most awaiting results of the final winners’ list for state awards (2014) on Monday, 10 August.

Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, State Minister for Forest Transport, Sports, Environment, and Cinema, announced the winners of Kerala State Award 2014 on Monday, 10 August, in Thiruvananthapuram.

The minister announced the results during a press meet in Thiruvananthapuram. The jury members gave the final report on the winners’ list early on Monday morning.

A total of 73 Malayalam films were listed among the state award nominations list.

Kerala State Awards 2014 Winners:

Best Actor: Nivin Pauly (“1983” and “Bangalore Days”), Sudheev Nair (“My Life Partner”)

Best Actress: Nazriya Nazim (“Bangalore Days” and “Om Shanti Osaana”)

Best Cinematographer: Amal Neerad (“Iyobinte Pusthakam”)

Best Film: “Ottal” – Jayaraj

Best Script Writer: Anjali Menon (“Bangalore Days”)

Best Background Score: Bijipal

Best Character Role: Anoop Menon

Best Director: Sanal Kumar Sashidharan (“Oraal Pokkam”)

Second best film: “My Life Partner”

Kerala State Award(2014) Predictions:

BEST ACTOR

Mammootty and Nivin Pauly,are competing with each other in the best actor categorywho has delivered excellent performances in 2014. In “Munnariyippu” and “Balyakalasakhi”, Mammootty has been appreciated for his roles.

Nivin was praised for his films “1983” and “Bangalore Days”. He bagged the best actor award in the recently concluded SIIMA 2015.

Best Actress

This year at all the award shows Manju Warrier managed to bag the best actress award and she is expected to receive this prestigious state award for a second time too. If she wins this year, she will receive it for her comeback film “How Old Are You”. Earlier, she received the state award for “Ee Puzhayum Kadannu” in 1996.

The nominations for the best actress award includes Parvathy (“Bangalore Days”), Lena (Aleef), Aparna  Gopinath (“Munnariyippu”) and Priyanka (“Jalam”).

Best Film

“Ain” was awarded the National Award for the best Malayalam film, “Ottal” was selected as the Best Film on
Environment Conservation/Preservation (2014).

Anjali Menon’s “Bangalore Days”, Abrid Shine’s “1982”, Sidharth Siva’s “Ain”, Jayaraj’s “Ottal”, NK Muhammmad
Koya’s “Aleef” and Sunilkumar Sasidharan’s “Oraalpokkam” may be considered in the best film category
