Putting aside the appreciable progress in technology and communication systems, if we switch our subject to the Freedom of Women, the discussion might end up bit stuttered. The issue of woman’s individual freedom in taking decisions and the personal struggle of every woman is still beyond solutions.
But, now times have changed. No matter how patriarchal the society is, women have now learned how to take a stand for themselves. More and more women are now standing up to end this long war of the sexes.
What a person wants to wear is a personal choice and nobody else has the right to decide for him/her. Agree?
However, outfits of the women celebrities and moral policing have become a most awaited subject these days, putting aside the trends of actors and sportsmen, actresses outfits have become a trait of the spotlight.
Recently, people brutally slammed the actress Priyanka Chopra for the way she dressed while meeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Priyanka, well known for her versatility and boldness, now popularly called as Baywatch’s actress is on news for all absolute reasons since she made her debut in Quantico.
However, netizens slammed her as she sat in front of Modi with her legs visible and crossed. Some quoted her deed as “Haw how shameless,” and there’s where everything has begun, the lament of trolls and career slut-shamers on social media didn’t let anything on her side.
This topic became a national discussion recently and many debates were held on TV News Channel like Mirror Now and much other leading channels.
Many celebrities came forward and supported Priyanka over this issue of moral policing. And now, Kriti Sanon who has been quite vocal about her ideas and who believes in expressing her opinions straightforwardly recently she gave brazenly perfect reply and it is worth a read.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actress talked about the issue of moral policing which is quite common in social media nowadays. Her take on trollers who thrashed Priyanka Chopra for her dress at the time when she met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is perfect at its best!
Heropanti’s debut actress Kriti Sanon opened up and gave a firm reply, sayiny:
“Priyanka is someone who represents India in so many ways and has made us proud in the entire world. She’s not someone who will do anything that harms India’s pride.”
Not only this, she even took a jibe at moral police and said that people must stop making comments on what a woman should wear. In her words,
“It’s high time that people stop commenting on what women wear. It’s our choice. Even Modi sir was not wearing a kurta pyjama; he was wearing a suit, which is Western. And Priyanka was wearing something very decent. It wasn’t vulgar attire. People need to stop telling women what to wear, or else it should be mentioned that if you’re meeting so and so, please wear a burkha.”
Well, it must be said that Kriti Sanon do has a VALID point and we agree with Kriti who just reminded social media users to mind their own business and not to poke their nose into each and every matter unnecessarily!
