In an awards function, the sight inside the hall seemed that total Bollywood film industry shifted to Dubai. Masala Awards 2015 was held on November 5th at Madinat Arena in Dubai. Masala Awards are one of the most anticipated events in Dubai. These prestigious awards are held every year to honor the achievements of the Asian community in the UAE. In this event, several Bollywood stars and Pakistani artists have bagged awards regarding various categories.

Varun Dhawan won the “Actor of the Year” award for “Badlapur” while Pakistani actress Mahira Khan was declared “Best Actress” for “Bin Roye”. It is not exactly a coincidence that Varun and Mahira will next be seen in two different Shah Rukh Khan films, “Dilwale” and “Raees”. Jacqueline Fernandez, for the film “Brothers”, bagged the “Style icon of the year” award.
