Bad News For All Baahubali Fans: No Baahubali 3, Says Legendary Writer Vijayendra Prasad

The whole world is going gaga over the India’s most awaited magnum opus project Baahubali- The Conclusion. It’s is not just a film, it’s a religion. For almost two long years, people wanted to know as to why Kattappa killed Baahubali, but now the excitement is all over. We all have watched the conclusion of the series. Well, most of us.

Currently, the whole country is in a ‘Bahubali Storm’. This is not something like we are exaggerating you. Yes, the entire nation is raving about SS Rajamouli’s creative mind and his perfect execution. This film has not just managed to break box office records but it has even won millions of hearts.

Social media is filled with the posts on Baahubali-2, people called it as an epic drama India has ever seen. The visual effects in the movie were compared to the leading Hollywood movies like Ben-Hur and Harry Potter, there’s no doubt in that, Rajamouli has clearly raised the standards of filmmaking in India and raised the bars of perfection.

It is undoubtedly clear that, if not for SS Rajamouli’s vision and KV Vijayendra Prasad’s hardcore story, Baahubali wouldn’t have been possible.       

Recently, fans went crazy as the internet was full of hopeful stories suggesting Baahubali 3 movie is on cards. Yes, now that Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion has become the biggest blockbuster of all times, there were reports that the franchise may be extended into another film.

However, the film’ writer K Vijayendra Prasad shoots down all possibilities of the Baahubali saga going any further.

We’ve told whatever story there was to tell. Baahubali was planned as a two-part feature film. We wrote the entire story comprising the two films from before we started shooting. Whatever story there was to tell has already been told,” says the veteran writer who is also the film’s director S S Rajamouli’s father.

Vijayendraji, however, reassures the fans of the franchise that there is no need to despair.

We’ve plenty of Baahubali spinoffs in the offing including a long-running television series. So it would be a long time before the Baahubali franchise dies.
