Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial has been on the radar of Rajput communities, fringe outfits, and political parties, but the period drama has found support in Bollywood. With Padmavati row getting difficult by the day, the latest news suggests a delay in the release of the film.
Padmavati has been facing constant opposition in the form of violence and threats from members of Rajput Karni Sena ever since they disrupted the shoot of the film in Jaipur in 2017.
The release has been deferred until further notice. Bollywood’s silence over the Padmavati controversy during the last few months has been telling. Most of the film industry’s actors and filmmakers have chosen to not comment about the protests and ridiculous demand to ban the film.
Now, there is a good news for the team of Padmavati as the movie has been passed by CBFC with U/A certificate. it means that the flick can be watched by all age groups but children under the age of 12 can watch it under the parental guidance only. However, there are a few changes to the title and it will be released as ‘Padmavat’.
Yet, the Karni Sena aren’t satisfied and called for film ban in few states and threatened to burn theaters if released. Now, to put a full stop to the controversies, the makers have released a new teaser that shows Rajput community has not been demeaned in any way. Instead, the makers showed the glorified culture of Rajputs.
