The prominent director Ram Gopal Varma has this extraordinarily unique way of expressing opinions in public, this makes him a standout person from the whole filmmakers.

His comments are more often straight in the face kind and that’s the issue which ropes in more criticism and opposition. His statements on various issues are widely criticised by many netizens, meanwhile much widely appreciated by his followers.

It might be his shower of comments on the Tollywood actor Naga Babu, the issue of special rights for Andhra Pradesh, the earlier Pathankot issues or any other, Varma does what he likes, says what he likes and beats odds just like he does every time.

But his recent tweet on Women’s day has shattered bombshells over the social media. A plethora of critics bashed RGV depicting his tweet as a sexist one. On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8th, RGV took on to his Twitter handle and tweeted:

Ok! so how about this tweet? If you’re one kind of person who takes this as a sexist comment, then it is the way you look at things that are making you understand the tweet in such a way.

Without discovering the positive layer behind that tweet, people went on bashing him and his opinions on Women. Popular politicians and leaders slammed him and left no stone unturned. This issue went much further when a police complaint was registered on RGV considering his tweet as a sexist comment.

And in addition to the verbal criticism, his tweet even landed him in legal trouble, Vishaka Mhambre, a woman from Goa who belongs to the Women’s branch of Hindu group Hindu Janajagruti, filed a FIR against him. In her complaint she stated that Varma’s statements insulting a woman’s prestige are a cognizable offence under the Indecent Representation of Women Act, hence an offence should be registered against the director under Cyber Law for victimisation of Women.

Varma responded to the complaint through his tweets:

After posting these series of tweets, he took on to the defensive side and went describing his tweet and the positive meaning behind it.

Sweeping off the earlier tweets, he clarified his opinion through one of his tweets:
