When it comes to expressing an opinion or share thoughts on relevant issues, Abhay Deol is one of those few in Bollywood who doesn’t mince his words. Known for making unconventional movie choices, he is one versatile actor who voices his opinion with sharp clarity.

Recently, Abhay Deol slammed the b-town celebs for endorsing fairness creams and talked about the wrong message ‘whiter skin is better skin’ that these stars gave to the masses which further raises racism in the country.

From Shahrukh Khan to Sidharth Malhotra and Vidya Balan to Deepika Padukone, Abhay didn’t spare anyone, and in a series of posts on Facebook, took a major dig at them.  One of them starred Sonam Kapoor as well. And this is what Abhay had written: 

“But L’Oreal is an international brand, do they show the same racism around the world that they are clearly showing here in India?”

 

While most of the celebs opted to keep their lips sealed on this matter, Sonam Kapoor chose to give a sarcastic reply to Abhay Deol & here’s what happened next:

Among others, he missed out on sister Esha Deol’s name, who too in the past had posed a fairness product’s ad campaign. Feeling the sting of being dragged into a debate of morals, Sonam pointed out what Abhay missed with a screenshot of Esha’s ad on Twitter.

What followed was nothing short of a controversy in itself. Sonam wrote, “I appreciate and concur with your views Abhay, Would like to know your thoughts on this one as well.”

The Dev D star replied:

But Abhay’s subtle and spot on reply saying, “Is wrong too. For my views read my post” left Sonam flabbergasted and the actor was left with nothing but to agree with the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor.

A seemingly hurt Sonam then tweeted:

Now we sure get his sarcastic tone but Sonam did not respond after this. Wonder what the industry is talking now?

Surprisingly, Sonam deleted her tweets later, after Abhay gave clarification on the matter. Though we appreciate that Sonam at least took the issue into notice, her defense turns out to be kiddish and immature and we expected a much responsible response from this very opinionated actor.

However, Sonam got trolled by many Twitter users for her post on Esha Deol and there was no stopping to it.

Looks like Abhay Deol’s post is creating the much-needed reaction we are expecting out of it. We hope the stars take it seriously and stop promoting fairness creams.
