After Severe Backslash From Rishi Kapoor, This Is How Jagga Jasoos Director Anurag Basu Responded To Rishi Kapoor’s Criticism! Check What He Has To Say About Film

Ranbir Kapoor’s latest flick ‘Jagga Jassos’ has been the talk of the town for all wrong reasons recently. Firstly, Govinda lashed out on Twitter after his role was chopped completely from the film. The film was slated to release in 2015 but due to the director’s idea of filmmaking, it was delayed.

After a delay of almost two years, the film hit the silver screens but this time, the Barfi director’s new idea of the film didn’t do go well and the film bombed at the box office. What ever the reason may be, the actor turned producer Ranbir Kapoor has faced a bad slap with the movie result.

While Ranbir in a decent manner revealed that Anurag Basu has a different style of working. On the other hand, Rishi Kapoor who was infuriated with film loss, went on slamming Anurag Basu for the continuous delays and reshoots.

Yes, the former actor blatantly lashed out at the filmmaker for being unprofessional and had put all the blame on him for the film’s poor performance at the box office.

He even made some bold statements in which he blamed the director for the loss Ranbir has faced. Rishi Kapoor then called Anurag as utterly irresponsible and negligent about the producer. He even thrashed the new age directors, called them reckless and ignorant.

Not only that, Rishi also slammed him for kicking out Govinda from the movie after shooting for his part. Earlier, it was being said that there were some changes made in the script and so, Govinda’s part was chopped off entirely.

Even Govinda, in an interview with Bombay Times, has spoken in depth about why he was upset with the makers of Jagga Jasoos. The actor also thanked Rishi Kapoor for supporting him.

After a severe backlash from the Rishi Kapoor and Govinda’s displeasure, Anurag Basu has finally reacted to Rishi Kapoor’s comments about him in an interview recently.

Not wanting to add more fuel to the fire, Anurag has maintained a dignified silence and the director said,

“I want to avoid making any comments against a senior who also happens to be my friend’s dad,Deccan Chronicle quoted him as saying.

While Anurag had nothing more to add to the matter, Jagga Jasoos’s co-producer, Bimal Parekh said that everyone was entitled to their opinion but he was proud to be associated with a film like Jagga Jasoos.

What Mr  Kapoor has to say about Anurag Basu is his opinion. He is entitled to it. We’ve received extremely polarised views on Jagga  Jasoos. Many have loved it, but just as many have hated it. I don’t know how much losses the film will run into, but I am proud to be associated with it.

In the same report, a source from the cast claims that Rishi Kapoor had been ranting against Anurag Basu since a long time. The source further added that Rishi Kapoor would not be singing the same tune if the film was a success.

Reports also suggest that Ranbir is rather upset with his father for lambasting Anurag Basu in the media. With various articles claiming this piece of news to be true, looks like Rishi Kapoor’s interview has done more damage to the situation than controlling it. According to a report in Bollywood Life, a source alleged that,

Ranbir was not wanting another controversy and not when the film has failed to perform at the box office. His father’s comments will only bring more focus on the film’s failure. This episode might cause more damage to their already strained relationship.

The whole fiasco around Jagga Jasoos seemed to be never ending, but with Anurag finally reacting to the situation, we hope that this is the last we hear of it!

Now, it would be really interesting to see if the candid rapport between Ranbir and Anurag changes after this incident!
