Udta Punjab is an upcoming Hindi-Punjabi Crime Thriller Film. The film is directed and co-written by Abhishek Chaubey Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under their banner Balaji Motion Pictures, in association with Phantom Films. It features Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead roles.

The Central Board of Film Certification hunted a stay on the film’s release as it consists of high maturity levelled scenes where the general audience won’t have. However, on 13 June 2016, the Bombay High Court struck down the stay and gave permission for the film’s national release. The film is set to release on 17 June 2016.

Udta Punjab Story Plot:

Udta Punjab is based on the raging problem of drug abuse in Punjab. Film Director Abhishek Chaubey made an attempt to draw people’s attention regarding the drugs issue. Almost every third youth is in drug’s menace who are addicting to it and putting their lives in danger.

Diljit Dosanjh is a police inspector who takes the bribe and let the drug goes in the city. Kareena Kapoor is an anti-drug activist who is trying to eradicate this sin from the land of Gurus.

The movie is a realistic and emotional journey. It is also high on abusive language. Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh have delivered brilliant performances.

Director Abhishek Chaubey has done a brilliant work in scripting the film, and has an amazing grip over the narration of the story. He portrays a serious issue in an entertaining way.
