Fertility specialists are warning men that the radiation from the cell phones is literally messing up with functionality and capability of sperm. The sperm count has been found to reduce. The mobiles phones are generally carried in the pocket, which is close to the testicles. It often lies within the range (one foot) and might cause sperm count reduction among men. It might affect the conceiving, making it difficult for couples.
Professor Gedis Grudzinskas, St. George’s Hospital, London, depicted that the research led his team to believe that sperm features and count can be highly affected by the presence of a mobile phone close to the testicles. Nearly 47 per cent of the men participated in the study were found to be seriously affected by the mobile radiation.
In the same context, Professor Martha Dirnfield, Technion University, Haifa, said that the men often keep their mobile phones in their pockets. Even if they stay at home, they carry their phones in the pajama pockets. The professor warns to avoid keeping the phones close even when men are sleeping. The habit should be changed in order to reduce the probability of sperm anomalies. She also added that the effect of mobile radiation on women has not been looked at yet.
The effect is greater among the young mass. Professor Alan Pacey, Fertility Scientist, Sheffield University, said that the effect can be worse for the young people. The elders do not have to worry as the age is already deteriorating the sperm quality. Martha added that those who want to conceive a child, they should be aware of the side effects of carrying a smart phone in their pockets close to the genitals.
The various research results suggest an undeniable fact. All the factors such age, origin, lifestyle, and other particular physiological and sociological traits were not considered during the study. The lifestyle and choice of clothes can also affect the sperm quality. For an instance, wearing tight clothes can be very harmful. The tight trousers or jeans can raise the temperature of the testicles causing a malformation of sperms.
The testicles of a human male hang outside the body because of a particular reason. The temperature of the testicles should be lower than the normal body temperature. The lower ambient temperature promotes proper sperm production and growth. Every single factor of the sperms depends on the temperature in the private parts of the male. Avoiding tight clothes is mandatory in this aspect.
The significant results also showed that only 11 per cent of the participant volume does not holster a phone in their pockets. The sperm count and motility factors are appropriate for this mass. The researchers are blaming the electromagnetic radiation of the cell phones for such a drastic effect. Still, a broader and elaborate research is necessary to conclude and solidify the evidence of such effect. The experts suggest keeping the mobiles at least three feet distant while sleeping so that the radiation cannot affect the physiological system. This will reduce the effect considerably and the adult male will be able to maintain the sperm health.
