Akhil Akkineni son of Akkineni Nagarjuna is going to be a brand ambassador for the third season of Hyderabad Football League which is held at different places. The Football League will start from November 25th and featuring 135 matches in just 10 weeks.
During this event, Mr. Akhil said that he would love to play the Football League at least for the next season. He also said that it demands very high levels of fitness for every player in the league.
“Though my first love is cricket, I was never away from any other disciplines too. And, football has a special place in my heart too and I love this concept of six-a-side HFL which should be a big hit,” he said.
“I am optimistic that the HFL would also result in more and more youngsters taking up the sport in a big way in a city which has a rich legacy in Indian football itself. I am glad that the brains behind this concept HFL chairman Murad Jasani, Adil Mistry and Naved Keshwani are doing a wonderful job in promoting the sport,” he said.
There are about 12 teams playing in this league comprising of six players. The winner in this league will purse Rs 3 lakh rupees and the runner-up will achieve Rs. 1.5 lakhs. The best player in the tournament will receive Rs 2 Lakhs.
