Hyderabad: Task Force Set Up To Monitor Roads

K T Rama Rao the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister said that the government will soon form a task force to monitor the Hyderabad roads.  This task force will suggest the government for the long-term problems of bad roads in the city. The minister has chaired a meeting of the water board on Wednesday.

Minister K T Rama Rao said that government will be spending about Rs. 20,000 crores on the development of the roads in the city. The members of the task force consist of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Commissioners, Managing Directors of Metro Water Works, Metro Rail, TSIIC, Chief City Planner and Hyderabad Road Development Corporation CEO.

The roads in Hyderabad city are damaged due to heavy rains this year. So orders have been already issued to take action towards the road repairs. The government will spend up to Rs. 130 crore to lay white tapping roads.

Till now there are 50 engineers supervising the works but it is increased to 150 engineers from now. This project to be taken up by Hyderabad Road Development Corporation said KTR. Minister K T Rama Rao has asked the officials to call for the tenders regarding this project.
