Telangana Govt To Introduce Vocational Courses For Intermediate Colleges On The Anvil

The Board of Intermediate Education is going to introduce vocational courses in different trades according to the market needs. The committee has been constituted by the Board comprising of many officials of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Medical & Health department and National Academy of Construction.

“The vocational courses in the junior colleges will be strengthened so that students get jobs once they pass out. Based on the report submitted by the committee, new courses will be introduced from the academic year 2018-19,” said Education Minister Kadiam Srihari.

Under the board there are about 1,249 private junior colleges that are granted affiliation by now, 1,661 colleges paid a fee for affiliation. It also includes 329 colleges pending for the affiliation.

Colleges can submit the applications for the affiliation is extended till September 21st. By this day all the colleges should submit the documents required for affiliation.

“Earlier, the Board was taken for granted by the private colleges and they dictated terms also. New rules and regulations are strictly being followed while granting affiliations. If colleges do not get affiliation, it is because of short comings they have,” Srihari said.

The government has ensured for all 404 government junior colleges with CCTV`s, Biometrics, RO Plants, Labs, Library, and faculty by the end of the academic year said the minister.
