Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) successfully conducted the Indian Forest Service (IFS) main examination in the month of November/December 2015. All the candidates who had qualified in the preliminary examination appeared for the main exam. The results of the same were also declared. Candidates who had qualified in the IFS main exam are eligible for the personality test. The interview of Candidates who have qualified for the Personality Test will commence from 18th January 2016. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is one of the Civil Services of India and belongs to the apex All India Services group, with other two All India Services being the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). The IFS officers are recruited and trained by the Central government but their services are placed under state cadres, and they have to serve both under the state and Central governments.
