Rajnikant starrer Kaala which released a week ago had a poor start scoring lowest first-day box office collection of Rajnikant in recent times. However, it went on to grow as word of mouth spread, and within a week the movie has joined 100 crore club. Kaala box office day 6th collection making Kaala in 100 crore club is mediocre for Rajnikant starrer film.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film has made a collection of 112.2 crores worldwide in its first week.
However, Rajnikant’s previous movie even with mixed reviews did better than this thanks to the promotions, but with low-key promotion, Kaala has still done great business.
Kaala had a great weekend run. It collected Rs 7.23 crore in Chennai. However, the film in Tamil Nadu is just doing average. The first-weekend collection in Tamil Nadu amounts to just Rs 44.8 crore.
Kaala had a nice run overseas as well at Us and Australia box office making almost 40 crores.
The story of the movie revolves around the character of Rajnikant, who is king of Dharavi. And some migrants who cal from Tamil Nadu to settle in Dharavi. However, an evil politician cum land mafia set his eyes upon that land, and thus the story begins. King of Dharavi fighting for the Land. It’s a clear message “Land is common man’s right.”
In the beginning, Kaala starts with an animated story just like Bahubali which gives us a bit inside about Kaala and the importance of land as well as stories of evil people suppressing common people in the past.
In the beginning, the film faces some protests in Karnataka because of some controversial statement by the star Rajnikant. Which later on was revealed that it was the distributors who had decided to not release the film because of the strong protest against the film.
However, the film was peacefully released in Karnataka and did terrific on Box Office in Karnataka.
Overall movie is well balanced with action scenes, love story and drama as well as outstanding performances by actors. We highly recommend this movie to anyone especially to big fans of superstar Rajnikant.
