Just like every year, people went assuming that this year too belongs to Bollywood’s superstar Salman Khan. But something didn’t work well, yes! His Kabir Khan’s directorial ‘Tubelight’ failed to click the nerve of the audience. Some claimed that the story is too thin and others slammed the cinematography and screenplay of the movie.

Another chapter of trolls has started on Twitter criticizing the movie’s plot and context. Even the reviews given by the film critics are too loose, as Trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his tweet wrote that the Kabir Khan-directed film ‘lacks the power to enthrall and mesmerize.’ “#Tubelight rests on a thin plot… Screenplay lacks the power to enthrall and mesmerize… Emotions plenty, but few moments stand out.”

Post the reviews, Salman finally opened up about the unimpressive result of the movie during the announcement of his association with PVR Cinema and Being Human Foundation to support their humanitarian initiatives, the 51-year-old actor said that he is pleased that the film critics did not give minus rating to his film, he instead thanked them.

Sources claimed that Salman was acknowledged saying:

“The critics were really good. I was expecting minus 3 and minus 4 but they gave 1, 1.5 apparently, so I am very pleased, as per reports people are saying they cannot see ‘Bhai’ (Salman) crying. So I asked, are they (audience) laughing and the answer was “no, they are crying”. So I said don’t worry about it.”

Salman even spoke about the genre of the film, he recommended the movie to the emotional people, it is better to watch the movie with parents and the entire family. Further, he detailed the reasons behind ‘Tubelight’ failing to reach the common audience, saying:

“As it is an Eid release, people have preconceived notions and plans to throw coins, sing and dance at the cinema hall. So they have gone to watch a certain film but get to watch another film. This film is not of a kind which you watch with your buddies as you will not get an opportunity to dance or have fun. It is a very emotional film. Even an emotionless, stone hearted person will get tears in his eyes. So this is an emotional film to be seen with parents, grandparents and the entire family.”

Thanking those who loved the movie, Salman said:

“I got so many text messages, saying that they got emotional watching the brothers dancing on the song. So we are preparing the audience for a beautiful, simple, emotional film about brothers. As far as reviews are concerned, every film has mixed reviews.”

He added, “I am not bothered, I know the film will do well and will be a hit and get a lot of respect.”
