After Funding Afghanistan’s $300 Million Salma Dam, India Commits To Curing 4000 Afghan Kids Of Heart Disease

In Afghanistan, most of the children have a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) which commonly known as “Hole in Heart”. India will spend over $3,000 on each heart patient in the coming five years. If the expenses exceed $4,000, the remaining balance would be paid by the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society (ARCS).

India Cures 4000 Afghan Kids of Heart Disease

Praising India’s efforts for helping Afghan children, ARCS spokesperson said, “India has always assisted ARCS.” Indian Ambassador Amar Sinha said it was a pleasure for him to see the Indian government supporting Afghanistan. “India will also train Afghan cardiologists to handle simple cardiac cases in Afghanistan,” he added.

Salma Dam Construction:

Recently, India’s major reconstruction project in Afghanistan, the Salma Dam almost completed the construction work and water are being filled now. For this Afghan youth thanked India for reconstructing The Salma Dam by carrying a 100-metre tricolor. Afghan youth is highly active over social media these days and their tweets are filled with thank you note to India. This gesture will surely strengthen the bond between two nations and we hope to see more collaboration in future endeavors.
