AP CM Naidu Perplexed Over Central Govt’s Stubborn Stance Despite Their Quitting NDA

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister seems to be perplexed by the Central Government ‘stubborn’ stance ever since they protested the poor allocation for the State, non-consideration of SCS for AP and as a result they quit the Central Cabinet led by Modi. And at last they quit the NDA alliance as a whole.

But despite these all displays of Andhra people anger, the Centre did not nudge from its stance taken earlier during the Budget Session.

“We pulled out two ministers from the Union cabinet and then quit the NDA. We also moved a no-confidence motion against the Modi government. Yet, the Centre remains unmoved. What could be its strategy behind this stubborn stance,” Mr Naidu told the reporters.

Naidu is wondering whether up to what extant can one go to protest and despite doing all, we get no results at all. This shows the dictatorial stance of the BJP ruled government at the Centre.

The Telugu Desam Party slammed the government over their behavior of not facing a no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha and called it as a “political suicide”.

The no-confidence motion was first called by the YSRC Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy to which Naidu and his party agreed to, but later changed their mind and decided to go alone for the motion in Lok Sabha. Many opposition parties endorsed the AP leaders’ no-confidence motion notice including Mamata Bannerjee of West Bengal and Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM.

The TDP announced its exit from the ruling NDA alliance last week due to the Centre’s reluctance to accept the status of Andhra Pradesh as Special Category Status State. Then after that it issued a notice for a no-confidence motion in the parliament against the Central Union Government.

“People of the state are watching and will understand all this,” Mr Naidu said.

He said that the state of Andhra Pradesh was being pushed backwards by 20 years after the separation of Telangana. “How much should the Centre help us to bridge this gap?”

“Whatever it does will be miniscule. The help extended so far is little compared to what needs to be done,” he further added.

TDP Chief Mr. Naidu directed all his legislatures to raise the state’s concern in Parliament in a strong way, when it shall move the no-trust motion.

He also again made the demand that the Centre must fulfill all 19 major issues given in the AP Reorganization Act, 2014 and to give attention to the six promises that were pledged in the Rajya Sabha.

The Centre need to extend its full-fledged support for the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh until its status grows to become at par with other states, he added.

The centre should extend support to Andhra Pradesh until it gets on par with other states, he added.
