Anand Arnold, a 28-year-old from Punjab fought with cancer and paralysis and became India’s first wheelchair bodybuilder. He did not let his disability define him or hold him back. He proved that to succeed one should turn the weakness into their strength. Here is the story of Anand Arnold how he struggled with cancer and became the first wheelchair, bodybuilder.

At the age of 13 Anand Arnold won his first title Mr. Golden Ludhiana. At the age of 15 he experienced a pain in lower neck back who is well up to that time. When he went to the hospital doctors revealed that he was suffering from the last stage of lower spinal chord cancer. Although, he immediately operated, the operation left him paralysed.

However, he was bedridden for three years, he decided to fight back and started training and has not let go of his dreams and did not let his disability hold him back. Training on a wheelchair is not easy at all. For the average person, it takes several weeks, at times even several months, to get ready for a competition. But it takes him at least a year. ” But I am a warrior and I will fight till the end”. Moreover, all his accomplishments were without any drugs or steroids.

Today, his awards consist of 3 Mr India titles, 12 Mr Punjab titles and 27 other major titles. Also, Anand Arnold face of Muscle Mania and a brand ambassador for a nutrition supplement company, as well as a model for a range of popular action toys. There is also a book on him which was written by Author Allen Woodman book titled ‘Weightless: A True Story of Courage and Inspiration’.
