Asian Rowing Championships: India Won Seven Medals In The Competition

India has bagged seven medals in total at the 16th Asian Rowing Championships that concluded in Beijing today. In seven medals, five are silver and two bronze medals. Going into details, the quartet of Kapil Sharma, Jaswinder Singh, Rajesh Verma and Mohammad Azad won silver in the men’s fours with a timing of 6:03.25s.

The second silver medal was bagged by Dattu Baban Bhokanal in the men’s single sculls event by clocking 7:18.41s. The third silver medal winners for India are Vikram Singh and Shokendar Tomar (in the lightweight men’s double sculls) and fourth by the duo of Roopendra Singh and Sonu Laxmi Narain in men’s double sculls.

Davinder Singh, Naveen Kumar Borraiya, Suchcha Singh Tomer, Gurinder Singh, Kapil Sharma, Jaswinder Singh, Rajesh Verma, Mohammad Azad, Lakshman Rohith Maradapa won the fifth silver for India in the men’s eight event. The two bronze medals winners are Davinder Singh and Naveen Kumar Borraiya in men’s pairs and Dushyant in the lightweight men’s single sculls.

The event was started on September 24th, 2015 and ended on September 28th, 2015 in Beijing.
