[VIDEO] To Protest Against Govt Officials’ Apathy, Buldhana Locals Perform “Nagin Dance”

We have often seen people try different measures to protest against government officials. Ranging from protest march to carrying out a dharna, we have seen different ways of showcasing dissent till now. But, have you seen this latest method used by the locals in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district.

Watch the Video here:

The ‘Naagin Dance’ was performed in front of senior officials disrupting their meeting at the PWD headquarters in Buldhana district. The men were protesting the poor condition of roads near Chhatrapati Shivaji Market and were angry with PWD for inaction despite several complaints.

According to reports, the PWD department had given a contract for the construction of a road and a footpath to the Eagle Construction Company. The NCP workers claimed that the project was to be completed in two years, but it remains unfinished even after four years.

After being fed up with the officials’ apathy towards the issue, these protesters have found an ingenious way to register their protests – by performing a “Nagin dance.” The video shows that PWD officials were disturbed by a group of 8 locals during a conference, who stormed into the room and moved around the table dancing.

A few seconds later, they were asked to leave by the police, while a senior PWD official promised to look into the matter.

And the twitterati obviously reacted to this new method of protest!

It happens only in India!
