China’s Super Computer Will Do 100,000 Trillion Computing Operations in a Second

A Chinese tech company has ascended with a new generation supercomputer which would be able to perform and execute over a hundred thousand trillion computing  operations per second. This newly developed Chinese supercomputer is believed to be harnessing better results in advance networking and computer applications.

‘Dawning 7000’  Super Computer Developed by China

Chinese tech firm Dawning Information Industry has developed a super-computer ‘Dawning 7000’ which is capable of doing 100,000 Trillion computing operations in a second. President of the Dawning Information Industry, Li Jun said ‘Dawning 7000’ has been designed to meet market demands for high-speed communication networks and large-scale storage and application software.

Dawning Information Industry has earlier developed Nebulae or Dawning 6000 which has ranked the second in the TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful supercomputers in 2010. Backed up by the Chinese Academy of Sciences the Dawning Information Industry developed Nebulae or Dawning 6000 has been listed in the world’s most super computers its measured Linpack value of 1.271 petaflop times a second.

There were speculations and suppositions that Dawning Information Industry would be launching ‘Dawning 7000’ super-computer within two years although the tech firm has denied such reports claiming the launch of the supercomputer.

Responding to such accounts, Dawning Information Industry President, Li Jun said “Dawning 7000 is not an all-purpose machine. It serves as a mainframe tailored for a certain application. So the development cycle is very long” to a state-run Xinhua news agency. Unofficial reports and sources claimed earlier that the ‘Dawning 7000’ super-computer had entered the phases of trial production and assembling, and would meet the public in two years.
