Dhoni Reveals The Chat With Bravo Before The Last Ball Against SRH

Dhoni copped a lot of the blame for India’s dismal performance at the 50-over World Cup in the West Indies, where they were defeated by Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Dhoni was out for a duck in both matches. After the Bangladesh match a mob of angry fans tore down the walls of his new house, which was under construction in his home town of Ranchi. But within a year, Dhoni would be captain of both India’s ODI and T20 sides.

Dhoni was chosen to captain India only because three senior players – Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly – all decided that they didn’t want to play at the first World T20 in 2007. India had many choices. It was a team that had Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh. But the selectors chose Dhoni, a wicketkeeper-batsman only five years into his career. But who would have thought that the Ranchi boy with long hair will take India to title win in that World Cup. Not only did he win that T20 World Cup, he led India to World Cup win in the 50-over format, ICC Champions Trophy and even the number one ranking in Tests.
MS Dhoni is one of the best captains the world ever saw.

Csk is making a comeback after two years and are involved in 4 last over thrillers in five games. Latest win against SRH is also another last ball thriller.
Chennai Super Kings weathered a stunning 51-ball 84 from Kane Williamson as they registered their fourth win to climb on top of the points table by beating SRH by four runs.
In this game Dhoni did something very unusual. He spoke to DJ Bravo for nearly two minutes before the last ball was delivered as SRH needed 6 runs from it. Usually Dhoni gives freedom to his bowlers to do the job and doesn’t give too much advice.

This is the reason why commentator Sanjay Manjrekar asked MS Dhoni about the chat with Bravo during post match presentation.

Sanjay Manjrekar asked “What did you tell Dwayne Bravo before the last delivery?”
Dhoni’s reply was “Well, that is between the brothers.”

“But, usually, we don’t see you talking too much with your bowlers in the middle?” Sanjay Manjrekar further asked.
. “At times even the best – Bravo – need a bit of advice,” Dhoni replied.

Its good to hear MS Dhoni using “brother” for Bravo.
