Discarded Cartons Bring Million Dollar Smile On Children’s Faces, Wonderful Idea By An NGO

Have you ever seen this kind of usage of cartons? These types of good things should be done for the poor as they can’t afford money on everything. There is a lot of difference between private schools and government schools. Private schools do have all the facilities and everything modern. But the government schools and schools in rural areas doesn’t have such good facilities.

Schools in urban areas are developing more and more using technology like E-class rooms, computers and good infrastructures.  But in rural area schools, children sit on the floor and those children’s parents also don’t have sufficient money to buy good clothes, bags and books. Students have to hardly learn the lessons with those insufficient facilities.

Most schools in Indian rural areas have two basic problems are the schools don’t have proper desks, which led to poor eyesight and a hunched back, leading to bad posture and bad writing and he students don’t have bags. As they are sitting on the floor and the board is too high for the little children to read, that make them crane their necks uncomfortably.

This may also lead to bad posture and eyesight. Thus an NGO created as a community service centre for poor families in urban slum and rural areas, he wanted to help these children in some way. Here came an idea of using cartons in very good way. They used discarded cartons, an economical and environment friendly option, to create portable desks called the ‘Help Desk’ which also works as bags.

The pre-set stencil design, which when cut and folded, creates a slick desk which also serves as a school bag and with a cost about Rs 10. Thus this bag cum desk is helping those little children a lot and it is affordable and which is eco-friendly.
