Another Earthquake: 7.4 Magnitude Measuring Earthquake Hits Nepal, Tremors Felt Across North – East India

An intense earthquake measuring a magnitude of 7.4 over the Richter Scale quivered the people epic-entered in Nepal on Tuesday. Tremors were caused in West Bengal, Delhi and many other parts of North and East India and the people in the Capital Kathmandu rushed out of the streets with fear. Nepal couldn’t forget the previous earthquake in which more than 8000 people lost their lives and thousands of houses got destroyed. Within less than a few weeks after that unforgettable incident, again this devastating earthquake hits Nepal.

Earthquake at around 12:35 PM in Delhi on Tuesday:

The information regarding the magnitude of the quake is not clear and given as 7.1 or 7.4. Initially, the Reuters told it as 7.1 and later they upgraded it to 7.4 magnitude. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, initially, the quake had a magnitude of 7.1 that struck the town of Namche Bazar, 68 km close to Mount Everest.

The quake was measured at a shallow depth of about 10 km that got struck up near the base camp of Mount Everest.

Prakash Shilpakar who is the owner of a handicrafts shop in Kathmandu said that, “This is really a big one”. Actually, he was trying to make a call to his parents who stays in the town of Bhaktapur got desolated in the quake that was occurred on April 25.

The people across North India and East India felt tremors and shockwaves till the capital New Delhi. The quake is very devastating that swayed most of the houses and buildings for about a minute and people bustled over the streets.

Instant reports were not updated regarding the destruction caused to the buildings. All the shopkeepers residing in Kathmandu locked their shops and came out to save their lives.
