It can happen to anybody, it can happen to your own parents! An elderly couple were mercilessly beaten up with a guy – supposedly their neighbour – in a busy market in Chandigarh and not one, yes not one of the so called ‘guy’, standing in the group, could gather enough courage to intercede and save them.

Other shop owners stood as mute spectators, the man barged into their shop and started hitting the lady. When her husband tried stopping him, he thrashed him too. It was a ‘tamasha’ for them but unknown to them such a ‘tamasha’ could one day be played out with their own mother in the lead.

It is said that the youth was under the influence of alcohol and targetted the couple as they allegedly spread rumours about his mother. Whatever the reason was, it doesn’t justify this pathetic behaviour.
