Pascal had lived most of his life alone having disfigured face. He lived with that face for 24 years that made him ashamed of himself so much that he avoided people coming to him.

Pascal Coler actually has a rare genetic disorder called von Recklinghausen’s disease. It is characterized by various kinds of tumours made up of nerves and skin. Generally, a person having this disorder can have unusually increased or decreased skin coloration.

But all his problems, sad feelings came to an end when a group of surgeons from France saved him. They said they would bring a normal face to him. In order to give a normal face to Pascal, they needed a donor. They, however, found a donor and a face transplant was done. The operation was intense and took place 16 long hours and Pascal could have died.

But the doctors and Pascal managed to come out of the danger and Pascal was quite happy to know that he was given another chance to look better. Pascal was elated and happy seeing his new face. This procedure was headed by Dr. Laurent Lantieri. The operation wasn’t just a cosmetic procedure. They had to connect blood vessels and nerves for Pascal to feel his face properly.

Finally, it ended with laughs in their faces, especially in Pascal’s face.
