Hyderabad To Host India’s First International American Football Game

Hyderabad is getting ready to host the first ever international ‘American Football’ game on the Indian soil which could be a turning point for Indian sport in general. American Football Federation of India (AFFI) conducts this game with the Indian team and UAE Team in one match full tackle match at Gachibowli Stadium on June 18th says Dr. Venkatesh Movva, chairman of AFFI Development Committee in India.

There a short arm comes in support from the State Government, which agreed to promote the exciting sport in every possible. Bonthu Rammohan, Mayor of this city gave an assurance to this saying that the plan afoot to make Hyderabad the capital of IT, education and healthcare, the State Government was according to top priority in vibrant sports culture.

Rammohan said, “considering the global recognition to the sport, we have decided to extend full cooperation to AFFI, in popularizing it in Hyderabad and beyond. We will be interacting with other States and city Mayors to conduct similar events. The bottom line is that we wish to make Hyderabad a preferred global destination”.

In a thanksgiving gesture, the Mayor has been made an honorary chairman of AFFI, during the media interaction on Monday. He says Indian team comprises of young and energetic players while visiting in its ranks with proven NFL experience.
