Irfan Pathan was one of the best swing bowlers in the game for India. He may not be in the scheme of things right now, but there is no denying how dangerous he was at the start of the innings. The left-arm pacer shared an interesting incident when he was approached by a Pakistani girl from Lahore.

Irfan Pathan shared an interesting anecdote from his playing days with the Indian national team during an event in Nagpur. India’s phenomenal speedster Irfan Pathan recently opened up about being asked a bigoted question on his nationality in a recent event.

It was during this session that Irfan shared the incident happened in Lahore when a girl approached him and asked him why did he play for India when he was a Muslim.

“It is a matter of pride for me to play for India. That incident still motivates me to do better. Although there are many moments during my career that do give me reasons to feel proud of my effort,” Pathan replied.

He also shared that getting the India cap from skipper Sourav Ganguly is his most memorable moment from his career. Since his debut in 2003, Pathan has played 29 Tests, 120 ODIs, and 24 T20Is. His last international appearance was in 2012.
