Is It Worthy Spending Another Rs 50 crore On Second Kasab (Naved)?

We all know that Indian Police had found another terrorist same as Kasab. He was found to be Mohammed Naved, alias Qasim Khan. As he was caught by Indian Policemen, there won’t be any change in Pakistani’s and their Jihadis. It may be embarrassing to the Nawaz Sharif’s Government, but not his prime sponsors. His (Naved) capture won’t change anything rather spends Indian money on him for taking care of him in jail.

If our Police thinks and gives him whatever he want and questioning him, With sufficient questioning, he can give us important information on the terror training camps, methods of operation, the thinking that led to his injection into India, what he and his mates did to create mayhem before he was caught, and lot more.

There is no need of telling to the world about Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism against India. The world is more concerned with ISIS and the al-Qaeda, two major Islamic terror groups and the Jihadis sprouting in their own backyards. The world will keep asking us to talk to Pakistan and “sort out” our problems.

Kasab 2 caught

This helps us to combat the pressure for some time but Pakistani attacks will continue, as jihad is business-as-usual. This could not be done as Naved doesn’t tell anything about such secrets. Swaminathan Anklesaria Aiyar, writing in The Times of India, said that we should get more of the terrorists alive, as “dead men tell no tales,” but dangerous men who live too long in the comfort of padded cells may bring hidden costs, unknown dangers and he had also given an example.

Lower-level indoctrinated killers do not often have the kind of serious information that we don’t already have. Naved claimed he came here to kill Hindus and had “fun” doing this (his mission was to keep killing, “Bas maarna hi maarna thaa”). We can easily get the information what we want from him if he cooperates.

This information can be extracted in a couple of months by expert interrogators. His replies can also be video graphed and made available to experts to analyse and study. The effort should be to complete his prosecution and judicial process in a matter of months, and not years with a new law. Consider the case of Ajmal Kasab, who came to kill in November 2008 and was caught, then spent four years in jail before being hanged.

The cost of keeping him alive is estimated at upwards of Rs 50 crore. Kasab 2 should not treated in the same way as we treated Kasab in that four years. It may not be worth spending another Rs 50- crore on Kasab-2. After the useful info is obtained, Naved should be left to his own devices like a normal prisoner, but confined to a lonely cell where he can’t attempt to indoctrinate others or do other kinds of harm. He may not be worth gouging the taxpayer for.
