Arnab Goswami, the personality that ruled the Indian Journalism for over a decade, it is well known that he’s India’s most favorite Journalist and his takes on the prominent politicians are the thing which no one can easily forget or ignore. But this man surprisingly left the table before few months, to our surprise, he didn’t even mention any solid reason behind doing this.

However, later to that, Arnab in a meeting said that he is going to start a private venture which will be owned and operated by himself, named it ‘The Republic’.

It is very clear to acknowledge the number of scams he broke on screen, number of corrupt politicians he exposed and however it must be assumed that the number of threats he received might be as many as any good politician has heard.

After a prolonged silence, Arnab now stated a few reasons behind quitting at Times Now, it is transparent that there are people behind this, and moreover, in a bid to explain the issue, Arnab indirectly hinted the details of an Indian director and producer who is very popular and well known for featuring Pakistani actors, Yes! you guessed it right, Karan Johar.

In his recent interview with Man’s world, Arnab explained why he quit Times Now and going to start a different venture of its own kind, ‘The Republic’, he said:

“Let me say that I did not want to make things uncomfortable for them anymore. I don’t believe in journalism in which a film director can call up a media proprietor and then shivers go down the spine of the media proprietor. I have taken on a lot of people in this country. I have broken a lot of scams. I have taken on powerful people and terrorist groups. And I feel truly sad when some film director calls up a media proprietor and says, ‘Why is this channel asking questions about me, and about why Pakistani artists are acting in my film?’ and the media proprietor gets scared. That’s very unfortunate.”

 

We all know that Arnab is a kind of journalist who really doesn’t care about obstacles, his guts are his major weapons and his words are his messages, however, explaining the situation, Arnab firmly confirmed: “Nobody can tell me what to do.”

“I have my own form of journalism. No previous employer of mine has ever tried to cross the line. Were attempts made to cross the line? Perhaps. Did I allow them to? No” added Arnab.

The number of troubles journalists has to face in bringing a news to the screen is out of limits, maybe Arnab is trying to take on few more sensitive news and there are people who didn’t let him or stop his young journalists from doing so.

“NDTV and Times Now can do what they want. I don’t have any advice for them. You are referring to corporate media houses. I’m referring to Republic. Republic is a content-run enterprise, where content is king. We will not sell news. We will not sell our equivalent of the front page. We will not take land from political parties and go soft on them. We will not fund India-Pakistan peace initiatives as a funding strategy for the organization. We are a pro-people organization” Arnab concluded.
