Hyderabad : Maa Elections will Started today at 8.00 Am and will end at 2.00 PM. The MAA Elections will begin on 29-03-2015 (Sunday) at 8 am and will end at 2 pm.

Tollywood stalwarts Rajendra Prasad and Jayasudha are contesting the elections for the President post of MAA. While Rajendra Prasad was assigned candidate no: 1, Jayasudha was given candidate no: 2 in the election.

MAA Elections Live Updates:

Over 702 actors are expected to cast their vote to elect their new President and other committee members of MAA.

Participating Contests are: Rajendra Prasad and Jaya Sudha.

Total No of Votes: 702

Expected Votes to be polled: 350-400

Votes Polled: 394

Polling Percentage: 56.12%

Mean while MAA Elected some candidates for certain posts:

• Vice President – Manchu Lakshmi
• Executive Vice President – Tanikella Bharani
• Genral Secretary For MAA – Shivaji Raja and Ali

The Movie Artists Association members are requested to carry their Identification Cards (ID Cards) and show it at the entrance before casting their vote. The Film Chamber and MAA office was totally decked up with flexis and colorful banners of the candidates and their supporters.

MAA Election Controversies:

Actor cum Producer O. Kalyan who is contesting for Executive Vice President Post filed a petition to stall the elections alleging irregularities in favour of Jayasudha Panel.

The court issued notices to Ali, Murali Mohan and the election commission regarding the issue. After listening to the arguments of both the sides, the court allowed the elections to continue but asked not to disclose the results until their further notice. The court also ordered to shoot the video of the entire polling.

Rajendra Prasad and Jayasudha are fiercely contesting for the MAA President post. Naga Babu and Mega Family is supporting Rajendra Prasad while Murali Mohan is behind Jayasudha. Entire industry is divided on caste lines in this election issue.

Recently well known Actress Hema Who is on the Jayasudha Panel have called for the Press Meet and done Sensational Comments on the RajendraPrasad Panel. The actress said that an industry bigwig, who was a part of the MAA association, wasted the association’s money and did no developmental activities during his tenure. Rajendra Prasad even did not have panel in this elections after two of his supporters announced quitting the election. Shivaji who is contesting for Chief Secretary post and Uttej who is in fray for Joint Secretary Post announced their withdrawal. However Shivaji Raja still committed his support to Rajendra Prasad.
