Mega flute festival ‘Mahabrinda Venuganam’ in Hyderabad on January 31

Aimed at bringing back the past glory of flute, the Hyderabad Sangamam Foundation was all set to organise ‘Mahabrinda Venuganam’, a mega flute festival, at Lalita Kala Thoranam in Hyderabad on January 31, 2016. The event would also provide a platform for artists, teachers and students to participate in a mega event.

Speaking about the event, Deputy Speaker and Mega Flute Festival committee chairman Mandali Buddha Prasad said that main objective of the event was to generate curiosity among present generation on flute.

“More than 200 flute artistes and students were expected to take part in the event who would render seven selected songs at the mega concert,” Sangamam Foundation founder, Sanjay Kishore said. At the same venue, about 10 celebrated flautists would give a separate performance, he said.

At 200 pre-meets with the flute artistes from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, it was decided to sing seven patriotic and classical songs at the mass flute concert. Vandemataram, Sare Jahan Se Acha, Raghupati Raghava Rajaram,  Paluke Bangaramayena, Adivo Alladivo, Ham Honge Kamyab, and Ra Ra Venugana Bala songs were selected. Noted flautist Dattatreya and others prepared notations for these songs, Kishore said.

“It was a wonderful opportunity for flautists and students. Never before such a mega event was organised exclusively for flautists,” Kendriya Vidyalaya music teacher Indrakeeladri Sarma said.

Food and accommodation would be provided to the artistes and students who take part in the event. For further details contact 7382430999 or visit www.sangammamfoundation.com
