Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to Visit T-Hub in Hyderabad on December 28 to Address Aspiring Entreprenuers

Microsoft Corporation CEO Satya Nadella will visit T-Hub in his hometown Hyderabad on at the end of this month, i.e., December 28. During his visit to Hyderabad, Satya Nadella will be visiting the T-Hub, which is regarded as India’s largest technology incubator. Jayesh Ranjan, the Secretary for Information Technology in the Telangana Government had confirmed the visit of Satya Nadella and he will be taken around the facility located at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad.

Satya Nadella is also expected to address budding entrepreneurs as the government has already requested him to be a mentor of T-Hub. Nadella will stay in his hometown of Hyderabad for 3-4 days. An official of Telangana government has confirmed that Nadella will visit T-Hub and meet state government officials on December 28.

Microsoft Plans to Expand T-Hub in Hyderabad

During his visit to the T-Hub in Hyderabad, the Microsoft CEO is likely to address the aspiring entrepreneurs who have strong desire to make unique innovations. Last month, the Government has started a facility which was built at a cost of Rs.40 crore in order to create the much-needed ecosystem for startups, providing them technology and business mentorship.

Microsoft CEO to visit Hyderabad

In collaboration with IIIT-Hyderabad, Indian School of Business (ISB) and NALSAR University of Law, the state government has initiated more than 130 startups to set up their operations at T-Hub. The 70,000 square feet T-Hub is a uniquely designed and fully automated facility that has brought together startups, incubators, mentors, venture capitalists, angel investors, legal and accounting firms and other players.

Satya Nadella Likely to Address Budding Entrepreneurs

The Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella’s visit is anticipated to deliver a big boost to the government’s efforts to completely transform Hyderabad as a startup capital of India. The government is exploring for collaboration with technology giants for strengthening the facility of all the start-ups and for developing the second phase on a significantly bigger scale. Already, the state government has declared Rs.10 crore for the Rs.100-crore innovation fund of T-Hub and it expects Rs.90 crore from private players. The government is planning to scale this fund to Rs. 600 crore.

The Telangana government is expected to discuss with Nadella regarding the plans of Microsoft to expand its operations in Hyderabad. Jayesh Ranjan will continue preliminary discussions with officials of Microsoft’s India Development Centre in the coming week. This is the second visit of Satya Nadella t his hometown Hyderabad after taking over as the head of the Microsoft company last year. During his first visit in September last year, the 47-year-old CEO had met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Telangana Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao had also called on Nadella during his visit to the US in May this year. Microsoft has its India development center in Hyderabad which was set up in 1998. The development centre in Hyderabad is the largest Research & Development center of Microsoft outside its Redmond (US) facility.
