Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Visiting T-Hub Today to Interact with Entrepreneurs, Will Meet CM Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad

The tech giant, Microsoft Corporation CEO Satya Nadella is scheduled to visit T-Hub in his hometown Hyderabad today i.e., December 28. During his four-day visit to Hyderabad, Satya Nadella will be visiting the T-Hub, which is regarded as India’s largest technology incubator. Jayesh Ranjan, the Secretary for Information Technology in the Telangana Government had confirmed the visit of Satya Nadella and said, “He (Nadella) is on a private visit”.

Satya Nadella is also expected to address aspiring entrepreneurs as the government has already requested him to be a mentor of T-Hub. Nadella will stay in his hometown of Hyderabad for 3-4 days. During his visit, he is likely to deliver a significant boost to the government’s attempts to make Hyderabad the startup capital of India. Nadella is visiting the hometown to attend a family function. On his private visit, he will be taken around the facility located at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad.

Microsoft CEO to meet AP CM and Aspiring Entrepreneurs

During his visit to the T-Hub in Hyderabad, the Microsoft CEO is likely to address the budding entrepreneurs who have strong desire to make unique innovations. In the month of November, the Government has initiated a facility which was built at a cost of Rs.40 crore so as to create the much-needed ecosystem for startups, providing them technology and business mentorship.

In collaboration with IIIT-Hyderabad, Indian School of Business (ISB) and NALSAR University of Law, the state government has initiated more than 130 startups to set up their operations at T-Hub. The 70,000 square feet T-Hub is a uniquely designed and fully automated facility that has brought together startups, incubators, mentors, venture capitalists, angel investors, legal and accounting firms and other players.

The Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella’s visit is expected to deliver a big boost to the government’s efforts to completely transform Hyderabad as a startup capital of India. The government is exploring for collaboration with technology giants for strengthening the facility of all the start-ups and for developing the second phase on a significantly bigger scale. Already, the state government has declared Rs.10 crore for the Rs.100-crore innovation fund of T-Hub and it expects Rs.90 crore from private players. The government is planning to scale this fund to Rs. 600 crore.

The Telangana government is expected to discuss with Nadella regarding the plans of Microsoft to expand its operations in Hyderabad. Jayesh Ranjan will continue preliminary discussions with officials of Microsoft’s India Development Centre in the coming week. This is the second visit of Satya Nadella to his hometown Hyderabad after taking over as the head of the Microsoft company last year. During his first visit in September last year, the 47-year-old CEO had met Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Microsoft Signs MoU With AP Government

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad today over breakfast. The Andhra Pradesh government will sign a MoU with the tech giant Microsoft in Hyderabad to work towards building a technologically advanced and knowledge-based economy.

Under the MoU, the software giant will support Andhra Pradesh in establishing three Proof-of-Concept (POC) solutions in various fields such as education, agriculture and eCitizen services. According to a statement from the chief minister’s office, the government will make use of Microsoft’s Azure Machine Learning and Advanced Visualisation lab technology for predictive analytics. This technology will function as an essential catalyst for attaining sustainable doubt-digit growth and better public services.

Telangana Information Technology Minister K. Tarakarama Rao had also called on Nadella during his visit to the US in May this year. Microsoft has its India development center in Hyderabad which was set up in 1998. The development centre in Hyderabad is the largest Research & Development center of Microsoft outside its Redmond (US) facility. However, there was no word if Satya Nadella will be visiting the development centre during his four-day visit.
