Muslim Girl Tight Slaps Differentiation of Religion Winning Gita Competition

The Gita Championship League organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness widely known as (ISKCON) examines the knowledge and understanding of the Bhagavad Gita of all participants who are all allowed to prepare for the test in a stipulated time period. Maryam Asif Siddiqui who studies in sixth standard has been attending Quran lectures and has read the Bible in the past.  While being questioning of her initial steps towards participating in the competition she said “My teacher told me that there is a Gita competition. You can take part. I asked my parents and they said that whatever religion is there, you can take part in it. I really like Gita. There were stories on how Krishna told Arjun how to live, speak to everyone, how to respect everybody. I liked all these things.”

The most amusing part was that she was recalling and reciting few preaching’s of the Bhagavad Gita on being interviewed by media.  Muslim cleric Maulana Umer Ahmed Ilyasi said “It is a matter of joy that a Muslim girl has won the first prize. Whether it is Gita or Quran, these are religious scriptures. Religion unites and not divides.”

The competition was organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in the month of January where every participant has to explain the teachings of the scripture Gita in the best possible manner and a non-Hindu intellect girl was good at that who later postulated ‘humanity is the ultimate religion’ while speaking to news agencies and media. Her statement raised eyebrows of many elder people who all were amazed to hear such words from a young girl of 12 years age.
