Online Petition To Declare Pakistan As A Terrorist State Goes Viral

Following the Uri attacks that killed 18 soldiers, countries across the world are standing in solidarity with India in its war against the Pakistani government who is accused of backing the terror attacks.

An online White House petition asking for Pakistan to be declared as a state sponsor of terrorism has crossed 100,000 signatures, thus qualifying to get a response from the Obama administration.

“This petition is important to the people of United States of America, India and many other countries which are continuously affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,” the petition said.

The online petition launched by Indian-Americans last week has become the third most popular petition on the White House website with nearly 110,000 people signing the petition. The Obama administration is expected to respond to it within 60 days.

The petition created with a goal of 100,000 signatures on September 21, there have already been 123,000 signatories in under five days. The petition states that declaring Pakistan as a state sponsor of terrorism is “important to the people of United States of America, India and many other countries which are continuously affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”

The online petition on the White house website will be live until October 21st. If the petition comes through, it’s highly likely that Pakistan will be declared a terrorist country standing the risk of isolation from the international community.
