Pregnant Woman Walks 20 Kms, Delivers, But Baby Dies Mid-Way, Know Details Here

We can have our hands on whatever we want, everything is so quick with the advent of technology. But, this biased forwardness in certain parts is not at all enough. Proper health care facilities must be on the top of priorities for every government’s body, in spite its size and power. How saddening is it to imagine a pregnant woman walking 20 kilometers.

This disheartening incident took place in Madhya Pradesh. The delusional medical infrastructure in India swallowed the precious life of a newly born baby.

The primary flaw behind this unfortunate deed is the unavailability of the ambulance in Katni district of this North Indian state. She walked nearly 20 kilometers before giving birth to the baby on road.

Coming to the details, Beena is the resident of Barmani village, she decided to make it up to Barhi community health center with her husband as the ambulance failed to arrive and she was suffering from severe labor pains.

Post this incident, the family members of Beena, alleged that it was the fault of the community which led to the instant demise of the infant. They added that they urged the ambulance which eventually didn’t come within the promised time.

Beena delivered the baby as she reached the Barhi town, sources claim that this happened right on the road, near the Town police station, where the baby died soon after being born.

Ashok Avadhia, the chief medical and health officer of the district said the newborn could not survive as she was born prematurely, in the seven months of pregnancy, which sounds merely like an excuse.

When asked about the inadequacy in the ambulance, Avadhia responded: Janani Express (108 ambulance service for pregnant women) is not under our control. It is made available through Bhopal.”

Officials charged a probe on the issue, and the inquiry is in progress.
