Priya Prakash became an overnight sensation and a national crush with just a wink and her popularity grew over the night and so did her Instagram followers. Currently, she has over 5.3million followers on her Instagram handle and still growing. Priya Prakash got 606k followers in a single day and was the first celebrity in the country to acquire such a huge following in a single day.

She fought for her place with international celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Ronaldo but settled for a third place in acquiring such huge followers in a single day. Once again she became the talk of the town and this time, it is because of her dress.

Priya Prakash was seen wearing a yellow CSK jersey which went way too high when she raised her hands. People started commenting on her attire and this was not the only trouble that surrounded her. A case was also filed against her and she was accused as ‘Khuda Ki Daaohin.’ A petition was also filed in Supreme court against Priya saying that winking is against the practices of Islam.

As per the bar and bench, the petition which was filed against Priya also states that there were objectional scenes in the song while Priya says that the song was filmed as per the lyrics of the song “Ishninda.” The director of the film Omar said that the song is sung in every marriage or festival in Northern Kerala. He questions that, ‘Muslims of Malabar are singing this song since 1978. It was not then objectionable, so how did it happen now?

Thanks to Priya Prakash’s following, her debut movie will also be released in Hindi. The film “Oru Adaar Love” features Roshan Abdul Rahoof, Siyadh Shajahan, Noorin Shereef and Priya Prakash Varrier.

The film got surprising attention from all over the country because of Priya Prakash’s wink in the song “Manikya Malaraya Poovi” which became the fastest video to cross 50million views in South India. The film is being directed by Omar Lulu who has directed two hit movies and is expecting that he’ll hit a hattrick with “Oru Adaar Love”

Rumours have been strongly moving in the B-town that Priya will play a key role in Ranveer Singh’s “Simmba” which is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film is being directed by the “Golmaal Returns” director, Rohit Shetty, though there is no official confirmation from either party.
