Thus, the Police had got the information about the scam being done by the petrol pump owners and had visited the petrol pump to check.

The police have busted an interesting aspect that the pump owners are using few electronic devices for giving less petrol than the people demand. The police caught them red-handedly. Even some petrol pump owners across Punjab have been found indulging in this malpractice. Police had revealed the device fitted in the petrol distribution machines that uses to increase the petrol delivery pulse through remote control.

This makes sure that the supply and money charged is shown accurately. The Police had received information that a gang has installed electronic devices at many petrol pumps across Punjab and even other states which make petrol owners cheat the customers. Thus, the Police found that Ankur Verma belonging to Kanpur, who had worked as a service engineer at MNC L&T, and Sunil Kumar of Paragpur in UP had installed certain chips in the petrol delivery machines.

The attendants at the petrol pumps were found using a device fitted in the petrol pumps and used a remote control or a secret code to make sure that the supply and money charged was shown accurately when it was not the case. The talent of the guys is awesome but the way they implement is illegal. The instrument costs about Rs 30,000-40,000 and it is used to increase the pulse of delivery through remote control.

The police found such devices fitted in petrol pumps at Lohia in Jalandhar, Peer Mohammad in Ferozpur, Balla in Amritsar, Mukatsar and in Mansa. The Police had sealed those petrol pumps and arrested few people involved in this scam.
