Rajahmundry Sweetshop Could Break Guinness World Record with 8,000 kg Laddu

A sweet shop established in the Andhra Pradesh Rajahmundry city is all set to break its own Gunnies Book of World Records cooking preparing jumbo laddu on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Thursday. Sweets shop proprietors stated that they are looking out to make an elephantine laddu weighing 8,000 kg for the Ganesha festival celebrations setting about on Thursday.

World’s Heaviest Laddu to be Made by Rajahmundry Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets

On the eve of Hindu festival Rajahmundry, based Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets have been making laddu’s for the celebrations since a decade while a few years ago they have been making huge laddu’s creating world record. Huge laddu’s have been prepared by the Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets since past five years where they would be preparing behemoth laddu weighing about 8,000 kilos this year.

Saladi Venkateswara Rao owner of Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets said they are going to make two giant laddu’s this year where one would be weighing 8,000 kg and the other would be weighing 6,400 kg (excluding the bowl that alone weighs a whopping 875 kg) for two tall lord Ganesha idols installed in Andhra Pradesh for spiritual rites.

The giant laddu weighing 8,000 kg’s is being referred as ‘Navyaandhra Laddu’ would be delivered to the Visakha Integrated Social Welfare Association which placed an order for that on Wednesday for their colossus 80-feet tall Ganesh idol. Visakha Integrated Social Welfare Association has been the oldest association of Gajuwaka supported by NRIs. It is being reported that it took about eight hours for 12 workers to prepare the laddu for the Gajuwaka based Visakha Integrated Social Welfare Association’s 80-feet tall Ganesh idol.

Mr. Saladi Venkateswara Rao owner of Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets said  “We want to break our own Guinness Record this year by making these laddus. We also have orders for large laddus from Odisha, Bengaluru, Chennai and from Hyderabad. We will be taking orders even on the festival day.” Another laddu of Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets has been made for the Vijayawada-based Dundi Ganesh Seva Samithi. Dundi Ganesh Seva Samithi placed an order for 6,300-kg laddu for their giant 63-feet Natya Ganesh idol.

Mr. Rao said he had deployed about 40 people for the preparation of laddu and they would be delivering this laddu to Dundi Ganesh Seva Samithi on Wednesday. Giant world records have been created by the Rajahmundry based Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets for making laddus weighing 5,570 kg in the year 2011, 6,599 kg in the year 2012, and 7,132 kg in the year 2013 and a 7,858 kg sweet last year.

Suruchi Sweets Makes Giant Laddu of 5,995 kg’s with ‘Thermal Heating System’

On one hand, Hyderabad-based Thrishatimaya Moksha Ganapathi Mandal at Khairtabad in Telangana had placed an order for a laddu weighing about 5,995 kg from Suruchi Sweets which would be delivered to them by Wednesday. Suruchi Sweets owner P Mallikurjuna Rao said they have prepared 5,995 kg laddu for 59-feet Ganesha idol installed by the Thrishatimaya Moksha Ganapathi Mandal of Khairtabad.

Mr. Rao further added that they prepared a laddu weighed about 5,555 kg which is 400kg less than this year’s for Thrishatimaya Moksha Ganapathi Mandal of Khairtabad. What makes this year’s Khairtabad  Thrishatimaya Moksha Ganapathi Mandal laddu to be special is that it is catered with ‘thermal heating system’.

Ingredients of this laddu were reported to be sugar, dal flour, pure cow ghee, cashews, groundnuts, cardamom, edible yellow camphor, turmeric and other dry fruits.
