After Nepotism, Rahul Gandhi Starts ‘Dynasty Politics’, Rishi Kapoor Attacks And Warns Don’t Bullshit People

Bollywood veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is well known for countering the political mishappenings and of course, it doesn’t take much time for him to backfire on silly trolls when it is about him or his people. It is no wonder to see the veteran actor been struck in the series of controversies, because, all that he faces is simply how his tweets echo.

Rishi Kapoor has been calm for a while on social media. After a few weeks of silence, the veteran is in the news again for his tweets. Actor Rishi Kapoor appears to have taken umbrage at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi mentioning Bollywood while talking about dynasty politics during his speech at the University of California, Berkeley on Tuesday.

Rishi Kapoor posted a series of angry tweets as a reaction to Rahul Gandhi’s speech where he made reference to Bollywood while elaborating on ‘dynasty politics.’

During the Questionnaire session, he was asked if he was ready to take charge of the party ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Rahul who had declined to be the Congress’s prime ministerial candidate back in 2014 answered,

“I am absolutely ready to do that but the way our party works, we have an organizational election process that decides that and that process is currently ongoing. We have an internal system where we elect certain delegates who make that decision. So for me to say that the decision is mine, that wouldn’t be very fair. That’s the decision that the Congress party has to make and that’s the process which is currently going on right now.”

Then he was asked the controversial question regarding the allegations that the Indian National Congress is a dynastic party.

Rahul couldn’t find the best way to answer the question and said,

“Most of the country runs like this. So, don’t go after me. Akhilesh Yadav is a dynast, Mr. Stalin (DMK supremo M Karunanidhi’s son) is a dynast, Mr (Prem Kumar) Dhumal’s son (Anurag Thakur of the BJP) is a dynast. Even Mr. Abhishek Bachchan is a dynast, also Mr. Ambani. That’s what happens in India and just the way India runs. The real question is if that person is a capable, sensitive person.”

Rahul Gandhi cited the example of Amitabh Bachchan and his son, Abhishek while explaining “dynasty legacy,” adding: “Don’t go just after me.” In a series of tweets, Rishi Kapoor gave the example of his family, the Kapoors, as a dynastic clan that has managed to earn people’s respect generation after generation.

Rishi Kapoor tweeted, “Rahul Gandhi. In the 106 years of Indian cinema of India, Kapoor’s contribution is 90 years. And each generation is chosen by the public on merit.”

“By God’s grace, we are in 4 generations. Prithviraj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor. Randhir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor – Males. Besides all others. You see otherwise”.

“So don’t bullshit people on ‘Dynasty’ You have to earn people’s respect and love through hard work not zabardasti and gundagardi.”

“I am absolutely sure you can Manish. Then it’s your genetic fault you don’t have what I have!”

This is not the first time that Rishi Kapoor has targeted Congress party or its leaders. In his earlier tweets, Kapoor had strictly suggested that roads and buildings named by the Congress after members of the Gandhi family be renamed.
