VK Sasikala Husband Natarajan Dies At 74 In Chennai

AIADMK Chief VK Sasikala’s husband died in a hospital in Chennai after multiple organ failures. The 74-year-old was admitted to Gleneagles Global Health City hospital in the last week for a chest infection and it was found that his condition is critical.

An official release read, “It is with profound grief and sorrow that we announce the sad demise of Natarajan Maruthappa at 1L35 AM today. The official release was issued by Shanmuga Priyan, COO of Gleneagles Global Health City.

VK Sasikala is currently jailed in a central prison in Bengaluru, has applied for a parole of 15-days to attend the last rites of Mr Natarajan.

Mr Natarajan was on a ventilator support after being admitted to the hospital, said COO Shanmuga Priyan last week. He underwent a life-saving double organ transplant and was discharged after having completely recovered from it. As VK Sasikala is serving a four-year prison in a jail in Bengaluru, she could not beat her husband in his final moments.

However, she had requested for a 15 days parole to visit her critically ill husband. The condition of Mr Nagarajan was critical as his liver and kidney were failed and had a lung congestion before the twin organ transplant.

Mr Nagarajan had undergone tracheostomy in 2017 October and was on a ventilator support before being discharged.

VK Sasikala is married to Natarajan Maruthappa for 33 years. He was a former public relations officer and was the first to have introduced Sasikala to the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Both Sasikala and Natarajan were expelled from the party by Jayalalithaa from her Poes Garden home in Chennai. They were accused of working against their interests. Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dhinakaran, present MLA was among the one who was thrown out of the party.

Jayalalithaa always stood by VK Sasikala on the condition that Sasikala would end all ties with her family, which also includes her husband.
