A sportsperson is always supported by their family members all the time. Here is an incident where the sister of this ace cricketer celebrated the loss of her brother’s wicket.

It was the inception of Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008; the tournament gave birth to a whole new culture in the Indian and world cricket. The same year, the culture of the cheer leaders was introduced in the Indian cricket. The duty of the cheer leaders is to celebrate every huge moment happening in the ground. They cheer the audience for every boundary.

The after match parties were one of the events where the cricketers and the owners used to celebrate the victories. The news about the celebrations of the cheerleaders was the talk of the town in the very first season of the Indian Premier League. Getting to the point, sister of the legendary South African cricketer Jacques Kallis was a cheerleader for the IPL team Chennai Super Kings, while Jacques Kallis was representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Since the cheerleaders are known to cheer up the cricketing moments with their dancing moves, they are expected to entertain the audience to keep them engaged into the game. Though a lot of people have enjoyed their introduction, a few felt it is unnecessary to have cheerleaders as it could mar the image of the game.

So, whenever there was a match happening between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings, and Jacques Kallis used to get out, his sister Janice Kallis, who was representing Chennai Super Kings as their cheer leader used to do her job of dancing as her brother got out.

Even Jacques Kallis was not surprised about his sister celebrating his wicket and he said that he was proud of his sister Janice. He said,

“Since she was a kid, Janice was interested in dancing. She’s got an opportunity with Chennai Super Kings and she’s making the family proud. Well, she danced awesomely when I got out against Chennai. I will make sure I’ll be extra careful when I play against Chennai again.”

Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended the first season of Indian Premier League (IPL) at the bottom.
