Telangana Government Inaugurates ‘Butterfly Garden’ At Sanjeevaiah Park In Hyderabad

On the eve of Telangana State Formation Day, the Telangana Government has inaugurated a ‘Butterfly Garden’ in Sanjeevaiah Park on Thursday. The park is surrounded by Hussain Sagar Lake having rich bio-diversity. A butterfly garden is designed to create an environment that attracts butterflies.

A total of 50 species of butterflies were recorded in and around the lake. As Sanjeevaiah Park have a colourful range of shrubs and creepers, it attracts the swarms of butterflies. This could help at least 30-40 varieties of Butterfly species to come to the garden.

Butterfly gardening is also aimed at inviting butterflies and moths to lay eggs. A butterfly park is also proposed to be developed in the area, where about 60 varieties of flowering and nectar yielding and butterfly attracting species have already been planted.

Telangana Ministers T. Srinivas Yadav, Laxma Reddy, A. Indra Karan Reddy and Padma Rao, inaugurated the garden.
