The Dirtiest Man In The World Who Hasn’t Taken Bath For 60 Years

Amou Haji Iranian hasn’t had a wash for 60 years and smokes animal faeces. 80-year-old Haji believes that “cleanliness brings him sickness.” That’s why he hasn’t bathed at all in the past 60 years. He lives in isolation in Dejgah village, in the Southern Iranian province of Fars.

Haji’s lifestyle of choice is very unique. The villagers say that he had suffered severe emotional setbacks in his youth, which led him to make these extreme choices. He doesn’t have a house. He lives in a hole in the ground, much like a grave. Sometimes he sleeps in an open brick shack that the villagers constructed for him out of pity.

Haji hates contact with water. Even the suggestion of a bath makes him very angry. Amou Haji has not washed for 60 years, because he believes being clean will make him sick, and his favourite food is a rotten porcupine. Not only cleanliness, Mr Haji also has an aversion to clean food and drink. He much prefers the rotten meat of dead animals and five litres of water a day from a rusty oil can.

He likes to fill his smoking pipe with animal faeces instead of tobacco.

Uses faeces of animal as tobacco

Haji doesn’t look after himself – when he wants to look his best he uses car mirrors for grooming, The Tehran Times reported. And, when he needs a haircut, he simply burns his locks in a fire.
As for clothing, he wears rags and, in the winter, a war helmet to ward off the cold .

Haji has the title of “Dirtiest Man in the World” because it’s been reported that the previous record holder for not bathing was 66-year-old Indian man Kailash Singh, who went over 38 years without washing.

Haji doesn’t seem to have a care in the world. He has nothing to lose, nothing to fear.
