At last, the wait has come to an end! The Android N developer preview has been released ahead of Google I/O. In this quick tutorial, I’m going to help you installing Android N for your Google Devices (Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Google Pixel C). Follow the instructions carefully and experience the new world of hotness! Get started with the installation process!

How to Download and Install Android N on Your Nexus Device

Downloading Android N is simple with Google’s new Android Beta Program. Any devices enrolled in the programme will receive OTA updates to the latest Android operating systems where available.

To enroll in the Android Beta Program, open the browser on your compatible Nexus device and head to g.co/androidbeta. You will be asked to sign into your Google account. Scroll down the page and you’ll find a heading ‘Eligible devices’ with any compatible Nexus devices that are also signed into your account listed below.

Find out your Nexus device to enroll to the beta programme. Now Click the green ‘Enroll device‘ button beside it.

Check the box to agree to the terms and conditions, then ‘Join Beta‘ button will be enabled. Tap on the button to proceed.

A message will pop up on your screen which lets you know that your device has been enrolled for Android N. You will soon receive an OTA update to the beta version of Android. It would take a maximum of 15 minutes, and I personally got the update notification in very few seconds. Click Ok.

If you don’t get the update, check out your internet is connected and head over to Settings > About > System Updates and Check for Updates.

Your notification panel will show you a “System Update Available” where you can download the 1126.7MB data on your Nexus 6P. It would vary from one device to other. Make sure you’re connected to WiFi and tap on Download to proceed further.

After downloading, you’ll be asked to Restart and Install, which takes a maximum of 5 minutes to install the software and to optimize the Apps.
